One of the ex-Niger Delta militant leaders has issued warning to all the enemies of the region, saying that the are to the struggle.

The enemies were defined as pipeline vandals, sea pirates, and oil thieves, among others.

National president of the Leadership, Peace and Cultural Development Initiative, Pastor Reuben Wilson, unveiled a statement on March 15, Tuesday.

He clarified that those engaged in different criminal acts such as kidnapping, sea piracy, pipeline vandalism and snatching of speedboats were enemies of the Niger Delta and their preoccupation was to destroy the peace and development of the region.

According to him, ex-militant if President Buhari push Niger Delta people more, Nigeria will be history.

Wilson said: “Those who are still involved in the act of bombing and causing troubles in the region are enemies of progress of the Niger Delta people.

“All the leaders of the LPCDI will join hands to fight such criminals and report them to security agencies.”

He praised the Coordinator of the Amnesty Programme, Brig.-Gen. Paul Boroh (retd. ), for guidance of the programme very well.

MEND was an umbrella organization for different Niger Delta militant groups fighting the Nigerian central government and targeting the region’s oil industry before the movement’s leaders accepted an amnesty in 2009.
