Hon. Musa Baba Onwana, lawmaker representing Nasarawa/Toto Federal Constituency of Nasarawa state under the platform of the All Progressives Congress is dead.
According to a report on Leadership, Onwana died on Thursday, March 17 at the age of 50. In a tribute to the late Onwana, the Speaker of the House of Representatives Hon. Yakubu Dogara, says the House has just lost a hardworking, committed and dedicated colleague.
Dogara expressed deep shock at the sudden death of a member of the House. A statement issued by Turaki Hassan, Dogara’s spokesman, quoted the Speaker as describing the late lawmaker as calm, peace loving and a good family man.
“Hon. Onwana was a patriot and a true Nigerian who was always championing the cause of his people in the House. We have lost a hardworking, committed and dedicated colleague and our hearts go to his immediate family, constituents, government and people of Nasarawa State.
“I pray that almighty God grant them the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.” As at the time this report was prepared, the cause of Onwana’s death is still unknown.
The late Owana was elected to the House of Representatives in 2011 and re-elected in 2015. He was senior manager, General Services/Logistics at MTEL between 1997-2010, and a lecturer at the Federal Polytechnic, Nasarawa, between 1993-1997. Before then, he was a tutor at Government Secondary School, Nasarawa between 1991-1993.
